Project Management

Shay Construction offers full-service project management capabilities. We facilitate the design and construction of projects by: 1) selecting, organizing and directing subcontractors and tradespeople; 2) sourcing and purchasing materials and equipment; and 3) providing project-wide scheduling, entitlement and quality control. We utilize and apply effective management techniques to plan and execute the construction of a project from inception to completion in order to manage and control time, cost and quality and best achieve the goals of the owner, architect and designer.

On Nantucket projects, Shay Construction has significant experience in taking projects through the complex Historical District Commission approval process.

General Contracting

Shay Construction provides traditional general contracting services through using the finest subcontractors and tradespeople. In addition to bidding an entire project after the final design, plans and specifications are complete, we also provide “fast-track” contracting for projects on which design is an ongoing process and speed is the primary objective. Our unique combination of industry contacts and talented in-house personnel help us to deliver quality, value and professionalism from beginning to end.

New Construction

Shay Construction has significant experience in project management and general contracting for new construction projects. We can bring projects “out of the ground” as well as construct “new” homes from raw apartment or condominium spaces. We demand that all phases of construction be completed to exacting standards and accept only the highest level of workmanship from our construction teams.

Renovation

Shay Construction has vast experience in residential renovations. We are capable of executing projects of all kinds, whether classical, contemporary or modern. On projects with historic considerations, we are committed to preserving, maintaining and enhancing the integrity of existing design and architecture. On all projects, Shay Construction pays specific attention to transforming spaces and environments to honor design intent and exceed client expectations.

Carpentry

Shay Construction works with some of the best carpenters and finish carpenters in Philadelphia and on Nantucket. These carpenters have significant experience in high-end residential carpentry and are well accustomed to working with the custom millwork, casework, trims and mouldings that are common on high-end projects. We believe our relationships with and access to this elite group of carpenters and craftspeople sets us apart from other general contractors and project management firms.
