Selective Renovation and New Construction

Shay Construction built a family room and kitchen addition and kitchen and constructed a 900 sq. ft. studio apartment for this charming Nantucket cottage in the winter of 2006-07. In order to expedite construction, we utilized a Superior Wall foundation and pre-manufactured panelized construction for the studio apartment. The Superior Wall foundation was set and the studio closed-in in a period of 2 weeks, enabling interior work to be completed during the colder winter months. The addition adds many modern amenities to the cottage while maintaining its quaintness and Nantucket scale and the studio apartment allows the owners to host family and guests for extended stays on the island.
